Pascale Gaudet (2013-04-13)
Scientific Manager of the neXtProt database (https://www.nextprot.org/), a new knowledgebase aiming to act as a central hub for human protein research. I lead a team of expert biologists who integrate data from other databases, published studies, and data submissions from researchers. Before joining the SIB, I worked as Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University, on projects involving the Model Organism Database dictyBase (http://dictybase.org/) and the Gene Ontology Consortium (http://www.geneontology.org/). I got my PhD degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, in 2001, and started working in the field of biocuration shortly after. I am one of the founding members and the Chairperson of the International Society for Biocuration (http://www.biocurator.org/), involved among other things in developing BioDBCore (http://biodbcore.org/), a uniform description of the core attributes of biological databases aimed at improving interoperability between resources.
