Biography

My main research focus is the development and use of computational methods to understand the structure and dynamic properties of biomolecular systems. In particular, I combine molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and data from spectroscopy experiments to investigate the binding of venom peptides to models of cell membranes with a view towards peptide-based drug design. In addition, I use MD and docking approaches to study the interactions of peptides with membrane proteins. I am also interested in using simulation and theoretical approaches that enable researchers to make better use of the data from spectroscopy experiment with a particular focus on vibrational and fluorescence spectroscopy experiments.
