Biography

Stefan Bachmann passed the Medical School at the University of Bern (1981–1987) and got his M.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern in 1996. After the Medical School, Bachmann was trained in internal medicine, rheumatology, and physical and rehabilitation medicine (PMR) from 1988 to 1998. He has the titles of a Specialist FMH in internal medicine, rheumatology, and PMR. In 2011, he finished his habilitation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern and got the title of an Associated Professor (PD) of rehabilitation medicine. Currently, Bachmann holds the position of the Head of the Department of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Klinik Valens, Valens, Switzerland. His clinical research focuses on chronic low back pain, chronic musculoskeletal pain, and geriatric rehabilitation.
