Maria de Lurdes de Figueiredo Gameiro is a PhD of Chemical Engineering (Copper Recovery from Ammoniacal Solutions, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Technical University of Lisbon, 2009). At present she is a post-doctoral researcher, with a grant from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, Portugal, at Centro de Recursos Naturais e Ambiente (CERENA), IST, Universidade de Lisboa. Since September 2013 she is an invited assistant professor at Barreiro School of Technology, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, lecturing Instrumental Methods of Analysis to the 2nd and 3rd years of the Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering courses. Her research interests are in the environmental area with emphasis on solvent extraction, crystallization and modelling. She participated as a researcher in 5 national R&D projects (FCT, QREN, Prime-Ideia) and co-authored several papers in ISI journals and conference proceedings with scientific refereeing.
