Dr. Tang is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the Centre for Policy Research and International Studies (CenPRIS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He earned his Bachelor of Economics (BEc.) with Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Master of Economic Management (MEc.Mgmt.) from USM and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from University of Malaya (UM). In terms of teaching, Dr. Tang served as a teaching staff at both public and private higher education institutions such as UUM, USM, Wawasan Open University (WOU), and KDU College since 2008.
Dr. Tang started his research activities in 2006 and he has published his research works in the ISI-Web of Science (ISI-WoS), Scopus and other indexed journals such as Applied Economics, Economics Modelling, Economia Politica, Economics Letters, International Review of Applied Economics, Tourism Management, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Research, Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, etc. Additionally, he is also the reviewer and the editorial board member for a wide range of international and local scholarly journals. In light of his excellent academic achievement, he was awarded the Bright Sparks Scholarship in 2010 by the University of Malaya. In 2012, he won the UM Excellence Award 2012 from the University of Malaya. Since December 2010, he was ranked in the Top 25% Economists in Malaysia as well as in Asia by the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc).
