Dr. Saber DARMOUL has a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. degrees in Automation and Control Engineering with first degree honors from Institut National des Sciences Appliquees et de Technologie (National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology), INSAT, Tunis, Tunisia. He has a PhD. Degree in Computer Engineering from Universite Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, France. He worked for 6 years as Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, he is appointed as Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at Ecole Centrale Casablanca, Morocco. His teaching areas are related to production organizations and manufacturing systems engineering, with emphasis on system engineering, performance optimization, industrial information systems, and production monitoring and control. His research interests focus on system agility and on management of change and risks in production organizations and manufacturing systems using artificial intelligence. Dr. Saber DARMOUL is currently involved in funded research projects that focus on distributed control using artificial intelligence, and on Intelligent Transport Systems. He is exploring the use of artificial immune systems to monitor and control risks and disruptions. Applications concern change management in reconfigurable manufacturing systems, which are the next step in Flexible Manufacturing. These systems allow high agility and responsiveness to unpredictable change in customer demands and to failures of production resources. Applications also concern risk management in production systems, supply chains and project management, traffic control in urban areas and public transport management in case of emergencies.
