He was Adjunct Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (PIT), from 1999 to 2022 (Department Director: 2014-2022), and Visiting Professor, from 2013 to 2023, at Open University, Lisbon, Portugal. From 1993 to 1999 he was a member of the IT Department at Paper Factory - Renova, Torres Novas, where he was involved in the areas of Stocks Management, Statistical Sales Modeling and Statistical Quality Control of various products. During this same period he was also Visiting Professor of Statistics at the Institute of Languages and Administration of Santarém, Portugal. He is currently an integrated member of CIMA - UÉ (Research Center in Mathematics and Applications) and collaborating member of NOVA Math, NOVA University of Lisbon and Ci2 - PIT (Smart Cities Research Center), Portugal, where he has been developing scientific research in Distribution Theory (exact and near exact distributions of some statistics used in Multivariate Analysis) and working on statistical data analysis and statistical modeling, with a special interest in Engineering, Social and Health Sciences. He has collaborated on some projects, with applications of Structural Equation Modeling to assess burnout in workers and students. From 2014 to 2020 he was a member of the board of CLAD (Portuguese Association of Classification and Data Analysis). He was editor of "Recent Studies on Risk Analysis and Statistical Modeling” (2018), Springer Proceedings in Contributions to Statistics, and also of the special issue “Advances in Computational Data Analysis” (2020), of the Journal of Applied Statistics (JAS). He is currently Associate Editor of the Research in Statistics Journal, Taylor & Francis. As a member of Scientific and Organizing Committees, he has participated in several national and international Mathematics and Statistics meetings. In particular, he has been the local chair of some international conferences and the chairman of the executive committee of the Workshop on Computational Data Analysis and Numerical Methods (WCDANM).
