Biography

Migraine is the most disabling disorder globally in the under 50's and as such sufferers face a severe unmet need for a greater understanding and treatments to lighten their burden. My passion is to act on both these fronts using my scientific background developed during my PhD with Prof. Goadsby in University College London, through my postdoctoral work at the University of California San Francisco and finally the University of Edinburgh. I now lead a team of researchers at Headache Group, King’s College London with the fundamental goal of developing an improved understanding the basic biology of migraine and other primary headaches. Our projects are currently funded by the Medical Research Council, Migraine Trust, Wellcome Trust and the European Research Council and we openly thank them for providing the funding that is so desperately needed to make a difference.

When not undertaking research and teaching I am a committee member of the British Association for the Study of Headache, on the organising committee of the Migraine Trust International Congress, an associate editor for Cephalalgia and strive to increase the public awareness of migraine.
