Paul Clarke is Director of the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute in Brisbane, Australia. Previously he was Professor of Cancer Cell Biology, Associate Dean and Head of Research in the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee in Scotland. Professor Clarke has a continuing honorary appointment at Dundee. From 1994-1998 he was a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and from 1991-1994 was a postdoctoral research fellow in the group of Eric Karsenti at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg. As a student, he read Biochemistry at Bristol and carried out research for his PhD with D. Grahame Hardie FRS at Dundee. Professor Clarke has received a Royal Society-Wolfson Research Merit Award (2003-2008) and research fellowships from The Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK. His research group has been funded by Cancer Research UK, Worldwide Cancer Research, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, Medical Research Council and Tenovus Scotland.
