Kleanthes Grohmann



I am Professor of Biolinguistics in the Department of English Studies at the University of Cyprus and Director of the Cyprus Acquisition Team. Having grown up in Germany, I carried out my undergraduate studies in in Linguistics in Bangor, Wales (UK, 1993-1996), with an Erasmus stint at the University of Geneva (Switzerland, spring 1996), and received my PhD in Linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park (USA, 1996-2000). After several postdoctoral and visiting posts in Germany, I came to Cyprus in 2003. Among many other activities, I am the founding Editor of the free, open-access journal Biolinguistics, and founding Co-Editor of the John Benjamins book series Language Faculty and Beyond.
