She graduated in Physics by the University of Seville, and got PhD in 2006 at the University of Cádiz with a Doctoral Thesis that received in 2007 the Prize to the Best Thesis in Materials Science given biannually by the Spanish Society of Microscopy. In the post-doctoral period she got a position as technician to be in charge of the set up and the advanced use of the Focused Ion Beam (FIB) station of the IMEYMAT Institute. In 2011, Dr. Ben was awarded with the competitive fellowship “Jose Castillejo” to develop a research stay abroad in the STEM group, at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides of Université de Paris-Sud (Paris, France). Dr. T. Ben became Assistant Professor in 2008 at UCA and she is Associate Professor since 2011. She has supervised 2 PhD students, published 48 JCR articles with h-index of 13, 2 book chapters; and 10 national, regional and European project and in several contract with cmpanies. Her current research interests are the development of preparation methods of solid materials for electron- transparency and the atomic scale assessment of many different nanostructured semiconductor systems.
