Farah Habib

Biography

Professor Farah Habib is the Dean and Official Full-time faculty member of the Department of Art and Architecture at the Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University. She has obtained her BA degree in Architectural Engineering with a superior degree and receiving an encouragement letter and honor ship in 1987 from Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran (former National University of Iran) and her MA degree in Urban Design as the 1st-grade student with a superior degree from the Tehran University in 1993, and her first Ph.D. as the 1st grade graduate in Urban planning with a superior degree and an average of 19 from Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran in spring 2000, and her second Ph.D. as the 1st grade graduate in Urban Design with a superior degree and average of 17/43 in 2001 from the Tehran University. Her major research interests are in urban design and management areas such as urban resiliency and vulnerability, urban social sustainability as well as dealing with environmental issues at urban studies. She has been appointed as a reviewer to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) for the assessment and evaluation of scientific journals. She has also operated national wide conferences and workshops on academic publishing and related issues and challenges. She had worked as the head of the research department at the Science and Research Branch Tehran for14 years. She has been served as the President of the Pardis Branch, Islamic Azad University during 2014-17. She carries more than 30 years of urban development research and teaching experiences encompassing a variety of architectural science and urban areas. She has published 10 scientific books and more than 70 articles in related subjects in international journals. She is the Editor in Chief of Hoviatshahr(Urban Identity) Journal for13years as well as the International Journal of Architecture and Urban Development (IJAUD) for 10 years. Moreover, she has been the Director in Charge of Web of Science ” INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (IJEST)”, from 2012 up to 2013. Most recently, she was involved as the head of the research department and then the Dean at the Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University.
