PhD in Mycology, University of Helsinki, Finland; MSc in Botany, University of Tehran, Iran. One year post-doc at Botanical Museum, Finnish Museum of Natural History. Currently: associate Prof. at Biotechnology Department, Iranian Research organization for Science and Technology (IROST).

Communicated at several international conferences. Field surveys in Iran, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, China, Thailand.

Specialties and experience: Taxonomy, phylogeny, mycology, molecular analysis, wood-inhabiting basidiomycetes, polypore and corticioid fungi, DNA laboratory, fungal culture laboratory, herbarium; research experience in international environments, writing and executing scientific projects, field surveys.

Other research interests: macromycetes, ethnomycology, DNA barcoding, genetic diversity, evolution, biogeography, biodiversity, fungal bioactive compounds, mycoremediation
