The response to our recently-launched ORCID Ambassadors program has been very positive. Thank you! Our first group of twenty-five ORCID Ambassadors hail from thirteen countries and include researchers, faculty and university administration, librarians, funders, association and publishing professionals. The current cadre of Ambassadors is listed below.
ORCID Ambassadors are tasked with listening to and sharing information with the research and scholarly community, by leveraging their own networks and activities. In turn, ORCID provides resources and information to support their outreach efforts. Look for Ambassadors at local, national, and international events such as the upcoming Japan Library Fair and Pacific Rim Digital Library Alliance annual meeting. Others are actively reaching out to educate graduate students, postdocs, and faculty on their campuses through presentations and online tools. Ambassadors are sharing information in newsletters and email lists, social media, through flyers and one-on-one conversations. All are helping ORCID to have conversations locally, nationally, and internationally to encourage the broad adoption and integration of ORCID identifiers by universities, funding agencies, professional societies and publishers.
