Darren Stephens

My initial background was as a physicist. I drifted into computing almost by accident, as one does, and worked as a web developer in the late 1990s, before moving into a mixed teaching and technical role at the University of Hull's Scarborough Campus. I stayed there until 2016, when I moved to my current position, a web development role at Durham University's Computing & Information Service. My original research area was in web engineering at Hull, but I later developed research interests in digital identity, memory, culture and curation, particularly via demotic routes, such as social media and wiki-based systems.
