Biography
Adefemi is currently a Senior Lecturer of Finance at the University of the Western Cape. He was a postdoctoral research fellow and an ad-hoc lecturer in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He held a Graduate Assistant position at the Benue State University, Nigeria during the 2011/2012 academic session. Until joining UKZN in an ad-hoc capacity, Adefemi worked as a Finance lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance at Ekiti State University, Nigeria where he rose from the rank of Graduate Assistant to Lecturer II.
Adefemi obtained his Ph.D. at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and his undergraduate studies at Ekiti State University. His research interests are focused on financial economics, particularly the time-series analysis of financial market return in emerging African markets. Adefemi has collaborated with researchers in the discipline of Finance, Accounting and Economics. He has evaluated adaptive market hypothesis and calendar anomalies, financial development and environmental quality, infant manufacturing industry argument on tariff, credit/finance-economic growth nexus, dividend-earning nexus, amongst others.
