Biography
As a Postdoctoral fellow at Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, my research is focused on Alzheimer’s disease in aged rats involving electrophysiological and behavioral studies.
My PhD research was based on the molecular mechanisms of agmatine (a polyamine) as a neuromodulator that revealed a significant activity on GABA, glutamate, and monoamine (dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin) neurotransmitters at the NMDA and AMPA receptor levels.
I was a Research Associate at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, working on various cardiac and respiratory research projects related to experimental physiology and proteomics.
I've earned expertise in the electrophysiology and neuropharmacology of neurodegenerative diseases and has been involved in research based on animal modeling, clinical biochemistry, molecular biology, neurotoxicity, neurotransmitters, and behavioral sciences.
