Biography

I specialize in geotechnical engineering and engineering seismology, focusing on characterizing earthquake-induced ground shaking, including source rupture, the attenuation effects from the source to an observation site, and
the effects of near-surface soil/rock materials), as well as downstream applications in seismic hazard analyses. I am also intrigued by emerging techniques, e.g., physics-informed machine learning, which can potentially change our approaches to mitigate the impact of earthquake hazards on our built environment.
