Biography
Kadian Davis-Owusu hails from the lush green island of Jamaica. Currently, Kadian works as a postdoc, within the section of Design Conceptualization and Communication on the project "Creating design knowledge in the context of eating behaviour". She is also involved in education activities.
In 2003, she pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. Upon completion in 2006, she started a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Computer Science with a specialization in User Centered Design for Computer Science Education at the said university. In 2013, Davis-Owusu commenced her Ph.D. project in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programme in Interactive and Cognitive Environments, primarily based at the Eindhoven University, The Netherlands and secondarily at the University of Genova, Italy. During her tenure as a Ph.D. student, she has conducted research in the area of Design for Social Interaction for Ambient Assisted Living Environments (AAL), which was successfully defended in Nov. 2017.
