Biography

Gerald Mboowa is a scientist committed to advancing the integration and application of genome sequencing technologies to address critical challenges in health and disease. His work spans outbreak investigation, pathogen characterization, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance, employing cutting-edge sequencing and bioinformatics tools. In AMR research, Gerald focuses on uncovering the genomic determinants of resistance and virulence, elucidating the mechanisms underlying these traits to inform better diagnostics, treatments, and policies.

By leveraging data science, genomics, and bioinformatics, his research contributes to improving our understanding of complex biological systems and translating genomic insights into actionable strategies for enhancing global health outcomes.
