Biography
Antonio Oliver Gelabert was born in Lloret de Vistalegre (Balearic Islands, 1987) and mostly lived in Pina (Algaida, Balearic Islands). He graduated with Bachelors (2011) and Master’s degrees in Physics (2013) and teaching (2017) at the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) and obtained the doctoral degree in electronic engineering in 2018. In his master's degree he gained experience in implementation of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) systems such as WRF and MM5.
His phD research was focused in development of hardware reconfigurable devices (such as FPGAs) for random number generation (RNG) and stochastic computing systems applied to pattern recognition for big data applications such as drug discovery. His research background includes the development of molecular descriptors for application to drug discovery (PED) and the development of methodologies for fast calculation of the electrostatic potential maps (MEP) and derived surface site interaction points (SSIP).
In May, 2019 he joined a postdoctoral contract at BSICoS group of the University of Zaragoza where he focused on application of computer vision algorithms to fluorescent confocal microscope imagery of cardiac tissue.
