Biography

Dr. M. Asha Jhonsi has received her Ph.D. (2010) from School Chemistry, Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India. Subsequently, she moved to General Electronics India, Bangalore as Post-Doctoral consultant and worked on the project of “Phosphorylated Siloaxanes as flame retardants and nanoceria as coating materials”. Dr. Asha Jhonsi is well versed in the research areas of photophysics and photochemistry of nanomaterials and quantum dots for solar cells applications. Currently she is working as Assistant Professor in the department of chemistry of Crescent Institute and handling B. Tech and Post-graduate courses for more than 10 years. She has served as a mentor/supervisor for 15 post graduates and 2 Ph.D researchers. She has an excellent contribution to science and has 45 research publications with h-index of 18. Till date she has two funded projects such as SERB-Start Up (18.5 L) and SERB-TARE (Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence (2019-2022, 18.3 L collaboration with IITM, Chennai). She served as Mentor for 02 Students Project Schemes through Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (2021-22, 2022-23). Her contributions to Crescent Institute are recognized and were awarded as “Best Young Faculty (2019) and Best Faculty, Female (2021)”. She is serving as a reviewer for several reputed journals. Her research interests include Solar cells, Sensors, Nanomaterials and waste to value added products.
