Olufemi Saibu is a Professor of Development Macroeconomics and Alternative Finance in the Department of Economics of University of Lagos Nigeria. He is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow of University of Johannesburg South Africa. He is His research interest is on Financial Diversification, Economic inclusiveness, Sustainable Development. He has worked with several international organisation and research institutes. He has worked intensive on baseline economic survey of SMEs and also with Institute of Public Policy Analysis on Pension Reforms and on enabling business environment for business Development in Nigeria. His research focus is business development and investment climate, economic impact modelling and optimization with several publications on policy reforms, business development and development finance. He has extensively worked on development of framework for Public private partnership on Flood disaster management, flood risk mitigation and impact assessment, estimation of housing demand and supply and financial sector of the Nigerian economy.
He is a member of Nigeria Economic Society, African Econometric Society, and Economic Society South Africa, Research Fellow of Initiative for Public Policy Analysis, African Property Tax Initiative, ARUA Center of Excellence on Housing and Sustainable Development, international Society for Development and Sustainability, International Energy Economics Association. And currently an Examiner of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, a member of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Editorial Board member of Economic and Policy Review journal of Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) . He has attended several conferences both National and International levels and worked on developing and evaluating framework for assessing the impact of government economic policy intervention programme in collaboration with several international organisation and research institutes
