Anna Clua is lecturer at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona) since 2007. She had her doctoral degree in 2001 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she was assistant professor of Journalism and Communication Theories from 1995 to 2003. Visiting researcher at the Department of Film and Media Studies, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (1999), and at the Department of Geography, University of Durham, UK (2003-2005). Her interests lie on media studies, gender studies, cultural geography and critical theories of communication. Member of the research group “Critical Spaces”, she currently participates in the project Promediar on media representation of prostitution in Spain.
