Biography

I am an urban environmental humanities scholar, editor and poet. I am Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong. I am also editor of the journal Feminist Review.

My research is situated in the interdisciplinary field of the Environmental Humanities with a particular focus on cultural studies, urban geography, and feminist science and technology studies. My current thinking and writing examines sustainable urban-making, technological imaginaries, multi-modal environmental narratives in the context of intense urbanisation, climate change and environmental injustice. I have explored some of these topics in my book "Reimagining the More-Than-Human City: stories from Singapore" (MIT Press, 2024).

I am currently the principal investigator of a Hong Kong Research Grants Council funded project exploring technological farming in Hong Kong and beyond. For more information, please visit jamiewang.org.
