Biography

Longyan Zhao received his PhD from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2015, and won the Excellent Doctoral Thesis award of Yunnan Province. Now he is a professor and master supervisor in Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine. He mainly focuses on the research and development of carbohydrate drugs. He has presided over more than 10 projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China and Guangxi Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars. He has published more than 30 papers as the first or corresponding author in journals, such as PNAS, JAFC, and Carbohydr Polym, and obtained more than10 authorized patents. He is a reviewer of many international journals such as Crit Rev Food Sci, JAFC, and Carbohydr Polym. One of the carbohydrate drug, LFG-53, developed by his group has been transferred to Jiuzhitang Co., Ltd. (40 million yuan) for its further development as a new chemical class 1.1 drug and approved by FDA for clinical study.
