Biography
Ralph L. Piedmont received his Ph.D. in Personality Psychology from Boston University in 1989. He then did a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute on Aging which focused on the Five-Factor Model of Personality. Ralph was Professor of Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University Maryland until 2018, but now is the Managing Partner at the Center for Professional Studies. This organization provides training and consultation to organizations interested in learning more about their constituencies and in developing their personnel. He has developed a non-denominational, motivational measure of spirituality, the Assessment of Spirituality and Religious Sentiments (ASPIRES). Ralph is the Founding Editor of Psychology of Religion and Spirituality which is published by the American Psychological Association. Ralph has published and presented extensively in the areas of personality assessment and spirituality.
