Biography
I hold a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2008. Subsequently, I studied two postgraduate degrees between 2008 and 2010, related to Aquaculture and Management and Quality Management. In 2014, I presented my PhD thesis in Biological Sciences entitled: āHeavy metal immunotoxicology and skin mucus in fishā at University of Murcia with European Mention and distinguished with the Extraordinary Award. During the development of my PhD as contracted in a National Research Project, I have been a member of the Fish Innate Immune System Group, where I actively participated in several R&D Projects. Additionally, I accomplished a 3-months research predoctoral stay in the Marine Immunobiology Laboratory (University of Palermo, Italy) which provided me new skills in fish mucosal immunology. At the beginning of 2015, I obtained a national fellowship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (Portugal) to develop my Postdoctoral career in the Fish Nutrition & Immunobiology Group at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR). Actually, I employed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Histology of the University of Murcia (Spain).
