Søren Holdt Jensen is Full Professor of Speech and Signal Processing at Aalborg University. He received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark, in 1995. Before joining the Department of Electronic Systems, Aalborg University, he was with the Telecommunications Laboratory of Telecom Denmark, Ltd, Taastrup, Denmark; the Electronics Institute of Technical University of Denmark; the Scientific Computing Group of Danish Computing Center for Research and Education, Lyngby; the Electrical Engineering Department of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Leuven, Belgium; and the Center for PersonKommunikation (CPK) of Aalborg University. His research interest are in numerical algorithms, optimization engineering, machine learning, and digital processing of acoustic, audio, communication, image, multimedia, positioning, speech, and video signals. He is co-author of the textbook: Software-Defined GPS and Galileo Receiver-A Single-Frequency Approach, Birkhäuser, Boston, USA, also translated to Chinese by National Defense Industry Press, China. Prof. Jensen has been Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing, Elsevier Signal Processing, and EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing. He is a recipient of an individual European Community Marie Curie Fellowship, former Chairman of the IEEE Denmark Section and the IEEE Denmark Section’s Signal Processing Chapter (founder and first chairman). He is member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) and has been been member (2011-2016) of the Danish Council for Independent Research appointed by the Danish Ministers of Science.
