Biography
After a PhD in Laser Physics at the University of Rennes 1, Ngoc Diep LAI joined the National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan for a first postdoctorate research. His work focused on studies of nonlinear properties of polymer materials and fabrication of photonic crystals.
In 2007, he joined the Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan (France) for a second postdoc. He worked towards the optimization of single photons source, coherent manipulation of single electron spin associated to color center in diamond, and super-resolution imaging techniques.
He is hired in 2009 at ENS Cachan as associate professor. His current research focuses on photonic crystals and nonlinear photonic crystals. He develops different technologies for fabrication of polymer-based photonic structures, and studies the optical coupling of nanoparticles (diamond, Gold, nonlinear particles) and photonic systems.
