Biography

As an applied geophysicist with expertise in electrical methods, my main research interests are applications of geophysical techniques, especially ERT and GPR methods, to solve different environmental and engineering problems. I am currently collaborating in several national and international projects where we are using ERT method to solve a variety of mining problems, detect subsurface structures (especially qanats), characterize landfills and waste dumps, and monitor hydrogeological risks. I am also involved in a few GPR projects focused on detecting the quality of rocks and stones, monitoring the construction conditions of historical buildings, detecting subsurface utilities/voids and mapping tree roots. The main perspective of my research plans is to improve data processing algorithms as well as to develop new application fields for geophysical techniques and their integration with other technologies.
I have consistently kept updated and patient in my didactic activities in almost fifteen years of experience in teaching a variety of geophysical courses at several national and international universities. Aside from always providing the students with handouts of lecture slides before each lecture, I also prepare them with comprehensive notes to better understand the material. I am honored to see that the students have often expressed their high satisfaction in the evaluation results.
I do welcome new challenges in my career to expand working horizons and to grow international team research. I am always interested in experiencing new and active working environments.
