Olga Jubany is Doctor from the London School of Economics and Political Science, currently Associate Professor and Serra Hunter Fellow at the Social Anthropology Department and Director of the European Social Research Unit, at the Universitat de Barcelona. Dr. Jubany is a social anthropologist, author of several investigations and publications in the fields of identity, racism, social exclusion and social control, focusing on gender and migration studies, from an ethnographic tradition, adopting the intersectional approach. Her work incorporates a comparative multi-sited research focus within the European framework.
Dr. Jubany has a long international trajectory and is nominated Expert at the Research Executive Agency (REA) of the European Commission since 2007, having participated both in the 7th Framework Programme and at the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. She is member of the Spanish Delegation of the Consejero de Ciencia e Innovación of Spain (MINECO) for the Research Group on Societal Challenges and JRC of the Horizon 2020 FP and is also actively involved with the League of European Research Universities (LERU). Olga Jubany is also member of several editorial boards, including the journals Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Reflexiones; and member of the board in leading anthropological organizations, such as the World Council for Anthropological Associations (WCAA) and the Catalan Institute of Anthropology.
