Biography

I have a background in Medicine and Epidemiology. I received my medical degree from Sindh Medical College of University of Karachi and PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology from University of Montreal’s School of Public Health in Canada. I also finished my Diploma in Tropical Medicine from National School of Tropical Medicine in Houston, Texas. I received Postdoctoral Fellowships funded by NRSA T32 program as well as CPRIT (Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas). I have also received training from International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) based in Lyon, France, where I collaborated with renowned researchers and carried out large-community based studies on infections associated cancers such as HPV and cervical cancers in Pakistan. I was also a senior faculty at Aga Khan University in Pakistan where I carried out my work in infections and cancers.
