Biography

I am an Australian Research Council Future Fellow and Associate Professor in Igneous Petrology/Volcanology at The University of Queensland. I use high-resolution geochemical techniques to interrogate magmatic crystals and their carrier melts, aiming to better understand magma transport and storage through the Earth’s upper mantle and crust. My research constrains magmatic processes in space and time, with a particular focus on the drivers of volcanic eruptions and the processes that lead to the accumulation of metals that are critical for the green energy transition.
I was awarded the Australian Academy of Science 2023 Anton Hales Medal to research in Earth Sciences. In 2024, I was acclaimed as one of 50 remarkable and inspirational women in Australian science (COSMOS).
My work is supported by research funding from the Australian Research Council and by infrastructure funding from AuScope NCRIS.
