Biography
Medical degree from the Federal University of Paraná (2003) and residency in Family and Community Medicine from Grupo Hospitalar Conceição (2005), Master in Public Health - Epidemiology from the Institute of Social Medicine of UERJ in 2016 with the study of educational inequalities impacting the occurrence of multimorbidity in the Pró-Saúde study. Ph.D. in Public Health - Epidemiology from the Institute of Social Medicine at the UERJ in 2020 with the thesis entitled "The impact of residency training in family medicine in promoting the attributes of primary care in Rio de Janeiro"
He worked in Lages/SC, Curitiba/PR and Rio de Janeiro/RJ, as a family physician, preceptor, and coordinator of a medical residency program, and facilitated the workshops of the European Academy of Preceptors in Family Medicine (EURACT) until 2018. In 2019 began dedicating himself to scientific research, completing his Ph.D. in Epidemiology at UERJ in 2020, in which he studied the effect on public health of investments in training family doctors for the SUS. Currently, he has been dedicated in Brazil to the creation of practice-based research networks, in addition to working as a researcher at the UNA-SUS. Outside Brazil, he is a collaborator at the Besrour Center at the Canadian College of Family Physicians. He has led research projects aimed at the development of Primary Care in Angola, Mozambique, Ecuador, and Uruguay.
