Namkug Kim is a professor at University of Ulsan College of Medicine, and also holds an appointment at Asan Medical Center (http://eng.amc.seoul.kr/) which is a joint medical center and one of leading hospitals in South Korea. He is currently as a dual appointed assistant professor at Department of Convergence Medicine and Radiology.
His research interests are the areas of image based clinical application including artificial intelligence, medical image processing computer aided surgery, and robotic interventions, etc. for translational researches in hospital. Together with colleagues in the hospital, key interests rely on binding artificial intelligence, image processing, and IOT, to help patients with metabolic syndrome, cancer, and hemodialysis.
Namkug Kim received his BS, MS, PhD degrees from the department of Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University and the author of about 135 peer-reviewed original articles and 20 patents (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Kim+N%5BAuthor%5D+AND+Asan+AND+(Radiology+OR+Convergence+Medicine)) His researches is mainly funded by grants from government of South Korean.
