Raphaëlle Ruppen Coutaz is lecturer in Contemporary History at the University of Lausanne. She is the author of a doctoral thesis on the role of the Société suisse de radiodiffusion (SSR) in the cultural influence of the Swiss Confederation abroad (1932-1949). She also took part in the national research project which led to the following publication: Mäusli Theo, Steigmeier Andreas, Vallotton François (eds.), La radio et la télévision en Suisse: histoire de la Société suisse de radiodiffusion et télévision SSR de 1983 à 2011, [Radio and television in Switzerland: history of the Société suisse de radiodiffusion et télévision SSR from 1983 to 2011] Baden: Hier + Jetzt, 2012. Her current research deals with the history of the European construction in a political, cultural and social perspective. Her new research project takes as its starting point the history of the European Association of Teachers (AEDE), a professional association of supporters of the European construction, founded in 1956, close to the European Centre of Culture (Denis de Rougemont), and which aims to promote the vision of a federal Europe in schools.
