Matthew is CTO and Founder of Arkivum and previously worked at the University of Southampton IT Innovation Centre. Over the last fifteen years, Matthew has worked with a wide range of organisations in the UK, Europe and US on solving the challenges of long-term data retention and access. Sectors include higher education, healthcare, lifesciences, aerospace, broadcasting, heritage and memory institutions. Expertise includes digital preservation strategies, system architectures, total cost of ownership, how to mitigate the risk of loss of critical data assets, and building business cases for both compliance and asset value scenarios. Matthew led the University of Southampton IT Innovation spin-out of Arkivum Ltd in 2011, which now provides world leading digital presrvation and data archiving as a service with an international customer base. Matthew's role at Arkivum is Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for technical strategy, product roadmap, system architecture, pioneering new markets, winning new reference customers, and defining new services and collaborations to help keep Arkivum ahead of the game.
