Biography

My research focuses on hierarchical composites, developing novel nanoscale reinforcers with carbon fibres specialising in the synthesis of carbon nanoforms including carbon nanotubes and carbon aerogels. I am currently working in the Beyond structural; multifunctional composites that store electrical energy (Structural Power Composites) project in collaboration with Durham University, developing materials which can store electrical energy as well as functioning a load bearing elements (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) EP/P007465/1).
