Biography
Jianhua Wang earned, from the Huazhong Agric University, a college degree in agronomy (1981, HZAU, Jingzhou branch), a MS in Biochemistry (1988) and a PhD in Microbiology (1996). Dr. Jianhua Wang is a senior PI (2022–present) and full professor (2004–present) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Gene Engineering Laboratory, AMPs and ATAs of the National Innovation Plan of Agric Sci & Technol; and the Institute of Feed Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). He has been focusing on antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and other alternatives to antibiotics (ATAs), including screening, design, the modification of new sequences, structure–function relationship, and mechanisms for over 20 years. A total of 270 papers (1982–present) were published in academic journals, and six governmental awards of Science & Technology were granted in China (2000–present). At the moment, he is taking over a key project of Innovation of Agric Sci Tech (Industrialization of Key ATA agents) (2013–2023) as a chief scientist, as well as being volunteer editor including BioMetals (SI ILC 9, 2010; SI ILC15, 2022); BBA Biomembranes (2020–present), Membranes (2020–present, MDPI), and Frontiers in Microbiology (2021) and its GE/GAE of three special issues on AMP RT (2020–2024) ; Member (2008–present) of Scientific Committee of International Lactoferrin Conference (ILC), and Chair of the 9th (2009, Beijing) & 15th ILC (2021, Beijing). He was supervisior of 50 PhD/MS students(2000-2024).
