Biography
Olivier Beuf was born in France in 1970. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Lyon, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA working on advanced methodological MRI developments for musculoskeletal applications. His professional career includes an MRI advanced application expert at Siemens Medical Solutions before joining the CNRS in 2000. Now director of CREATIS laboratory as well as head of the NMR and optics team, he has co-authored 86 publications and 3 patents and been involved in multiple international collaborations with academic and industrial partners. He has a vast experience in clinical and pre-clinical applications of MRI as well as a thorough understanding of all the instrumental aspects, which are required for the implementation of the considered solutions on MR systems. MR imaging, radiofrequency coils, multi-parameters quantitative imaging (elastography, diffusion,..), liver examination and cartilage ultra-structure and morphology are a few examples of his research interests.
