Alfred Deakin Professor Jo Salmon is Co-Director of the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition, Deakin University. She holds a National Health & Medical Research Council Principal Research Fellowship, and is President of the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity. She has published more than 295 peer review papers and book chapters and has been a Chief Investigator on 26 nationally-funded studies and 14 international studies. She has played a lead role in development and refinement of physical activity guidelines for children and young people in Australia. Her research focuses on developing effective strategies to reduce and break up children’s and adolescents’ sitting and promote physical activity.
