Scott D. Markowitz, M.D.

Biography

Scott Markowitz, MD (he, him) is Professor and Vice Chair Anesthesiology for Professional Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Scott is a member of the advisory board of the Women’s Empowerment and Leadership Initiative of the SPA, and co-director of the Leadership for Innovative Team Science program in the Colorado Clinical and Translations Sciences Institute. He received his coaching training at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, and is a Gallup-Certified Global Strengths Coach. He teaches communication, negotiation, implicit bias, leadership styles, conflict management, empowerment, accountability, time management, peer-support and coaching skills. Scott’s mission is to develop physician leadership for better health outcomes.
