Biography

My name is Maria Constança Simões Rigueiro. I am Civil Engineer.
I initiated my research with the study of dynamic behaviour of pedestrian bridges, analysis and simulation of pedestrian action; In the PhD I studied the dynamics effects of the high speed trains on railway bridges.
Since 2011 I have been developing work on the behaviour of steel structures subjected to hazard loads, namely subject to impact and blast loads. Here I have been applying the knowledge of non-linear dynamics effects on the material and on the structural elements. Also I have been working on sustainability, namely assess the integral LCA on critical infrastructures.
