Biography
I am a Professor of Agricultural Engineering at University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan. After receiving a BS (1996) and a MS (1998) from University of the Ryukyus, I earned my PhD in Agricultural Engineering from Kagoshima University, Japan.
I began my teaching career at University of the Ryukyus in 2001 and have been additionally functioning in the capacity of a advisory Professor of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University from 2014.
My research interests lie in the Science and Engineering (Technology) of Landslides. In 2012, I won the Edward B. Burwell Jr. Award of the Environmental & Engineering Geology Division, Geological Society of America for the study on “Platy layer silicate minerals for controlling residual strength in landslide soils of different origins and geology.”
