Biography

I am a Doctor of Health Sciences, and a docent in social psychiatry. My academic interest lies on the field of social psychiatry, especially on adolescent mental health issues. I am one of the principal investigators of the Finnish Adolescent Mental Health Cohort Study. I consider it important to study self-reported problems and assets of adolescents as well as consequences of mental health policy and mental health services on adolescent population. I also contribute to teaching young scholars in diverse fields of health sciences. Until 2019 I carried the academic responsibility of the Finnish language Master’s Degree Programme in Health Sciences/Public Health in University of Tampere, and I also contribute to the development of our Master´s Programme on Public and Global Health.
