George C. Alexandropoulos received the Engineering Diploma (5 years) in Computer Engineering and Informatics, the M.A.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Signal Processing and Communications, and the Ph.D. degree (best Ph.D. thesis award) from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, School of Engineering, University of Patras (UoP), Rio–Patras, Greece in 2003, 2005, and 2010, respectively. He has held research positions and participated in several European R&D projects at the Universities of Patras and Tripolis, Technical University of Crete, National Center for Scientific Research-“Demokritos,” National Observatory of Athens, and the Athens Information Technology. Currently, he is Senior Research Engineer at the Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Lab, Paris Research Center, Huawei Technologies France in Boulogne-Billancourt delivering statistical signal processing and machine learning algorithms for the physical and medium access layers of the IEEE 802.11 standards' family, 5G networks, and beyond, as well as designing novel network architectures and studying their fundamental performance limits.
