Biography

Stephen M. Miller is a tenured Professor of Economics and former Department Chair in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to that, he was Professor of Economics and Department Head at the University of Connecticut.

He received higher education training at Purdue University, receiving his bachelor's degree with distinction in Engineering Sciences Engineering (a part of the Aeronautical Engineering School), and at the State University of New York at Buffalo, receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics.

He became a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in July 2001, having retired from the University of Connecticut in June 2001 after 31 years of service. He also held a visiting positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for 5 months in 1978 and a visiting Scholar position at the Congressional Budget Office for 12 months in 1987-88.

His research interests span monetary, macroeconomic, and international finance theory and policy; international trade and applied microeconomic theory; financial institutions; and real estate lending.
