David J Boocock

Dr David Boocock is Senior Research Fellow in Clinical Proteomics in the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and heads the Clinical Proteomics Group, primarily focusing on biological mass spectrometry for biomarker discovery. After a PhD in Pharmacology & Therapeutics (MRC funded) at The University of Liverpool and a Post Doc at the MRC Toxicology Unit (Leicester) examining toxicity of tamoxifen related compounds, in 2000 he shifted the focus of his research to cancer prevention using naturally derived compounds (nutriceuticals), primarily the phytoalexin resveratrol, in clinical trials (Phase I, II). His current research interests are directed toward quantitative mass spectrometry of proteins and biomarker discovery in cancer and other diseases.
