Biography
Study of the 3D distribution of the cloud cover and its spatial and temporal variability at the global and regional scales from satellite satellite data. Framework: improvement of the understanding of cloud/climate interactions and the improvement of the modeling of climate processes.
Critical interpretation and scientific exploitation of passive radiometric data, especially from geostationary satellites. Development of innovative techniques to characterize the different cloud types from visible and infrared radiances.
Participation in the intercomparison of algorithms in the framework of the ISCCP project (International Satellite Cloud Climatology Program). Participation in the FIRE and ASTEX regional experiments related to ISCCP.
Participation in the development of the first simulator of ISCCP observations for general circulation models.
Study of the contribution of active remote sensing for cloud observation and highlighted the limitations of passive radiometry.
Participation in the preparation and operation of space missions such as POLDER/PARASOL, CALIPSO, MEGHA-TROPIQUES.
Participation in several studies of tropical meteorology, including a recent study on the dynamic and thermodynamic conditions leading to cloud formation over the Sahara.
